I swear by the BornFree cup. If you start with their bottles, the transition is seamless. My older son moved to the sippy at 4 months and my lil guy at 6 months. LOVE IT!

I love Nuby sippy cups and those are the ones I transitioned my son with since they have so many nipple/spout options. The pursuit for the perfect sippy can take a while and you might need to buy a few different kinds before finding the perfect one. My son will use any sippy with a straw so it's just about finding the one that leaks the least.

My son has only ever used the Nuby sippy cups with the straw, He just never got the hang of the hard-spouted ones, which turns out is a good thing because his speech therapist told us that they are bad for tongue placement or something. We still use the straw cups, but are starting our son on regular cups now.

The Tommee Tippee sippy cups were a godsend. My baby was completely breastfed and never took a bottle - but at 6 months we decided to introduce a sippy cup to her for water - and after buying one of every sippy cup at Babies R Us as we tried them all out - she finally took one and it was the Tommee Tippee cup. She used their sippy cup for 6 months and now we're using the one with the straw. I love them - they're easy to use and clean - and they're the only ones my little princess takes. One of my favorite features of the sippy cup was the cover for the mouth piece - my little one, even at a young age - figured out how to cover her sippy cup mouth piece when she wasn't drinking from her cup! Sooo cute!!

Born Free.... 100%

No leaks and I love their training cups. Not to mention their bottles were a favorite since day one!

Absolutely second the Tommee Tippee! We have tried every sippy out there, and finally found the Tommee Tippee. It is easy to get water out of and it doesn't leak! My little one, who has shown no interest in using a sippy cup, took to it immediately and loves it.

I agree LilSugar! The transition is seamless with the Born Free bottles and cups. I didn't understand what all of the fuss about the brand was but I'm a diehard fan now. Smiling

When my son's pediatrician reminded me to get him started on a sippy cup, I found myself running to the store in search of the perfect first cup. Walking down the weaning aisle, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of drinking vessels on the market. I quickly grabbed the now-BPA-free version of the same cup my older son had used, washed and sterilized it, and gave my lil tyke the go-ahead. It hit the floor in the blink of an eye. After a week of him simply chewing on the nozzle, I went back and gathered up a few different brands to see which he would like. After a month, we have some clear favorites. Click through the following slides to see which cups made the grade in our home.
